Tips for worry-free Do ot yourself Stationery stationery.
1.Unless you have lots of craft experience, go for a simple design. Less is always best so don’t over complicate how you decorate your cards. Stick to a simple layout that won’t take hours to make. (You’ve got enough to do already organising the wedding)
2. Do your research. Collect lots of lots of different designs for inspiration as your develop you own ideas. Stick to plain colours of cards (white or ivory) and use your embellishments or ribbon to bring in colours and themes. You may find it hard to find the right shade of card but ribbon comes in hundreds of colours and is easier to match.
3.Buy your supplies early to make time for making the invitations up. Ask anyone who has made their own stationery and they will say it took longer than they thought. Get help from friends and family and set up a production line.
4. When buying your supplies always purchase a little more than you need especially if you are buying in advance, to allow for mistakes and a few last minute extra guests.
5.Including an RSVP card with a date and menu options (if required) with your invitations, it is a good way to ensure your guests reply promptly and will relieve the stress of ringing people at the last minute to check if they are coming and give plenty of time to supply your venue with the information they require.
6. If your wedding is on a Friday or during a holiday period make sure you give people plenty of notice, you may wish to send a 'Save the Date' card.
7. If you are having a civil ceremony, make an 'order of the day card'. On ths you can tell guests where they need to be and at what time eveythings happening.
